Laiyang area , People's Republic of China , Shandong Province, revoked area , in this eastern province of Shandong.
In 1950, it was located in the 3 areas of the South China Sea , Beihai and Xihai of the original Jiaodong Branch . The Commissioner's Office was stationed in Laiyang County (now Laiyang City ). Under the jurisdiction of the former Nanhai District , the four counties of Laiyang , Laixi , Pingdong , and Pingnan belonged to; the original Beihai Prefecture belonged to the Huangxian , Zhaoyuan , Qixia , Qidong , Penglai , and Changshan Islands ; the former Xihai Prefecture belonged to Jixian , Weinan , and Ping Degree , Pingxi 4 counties. Laiyang Prefecture administers 13 counties and 1 special area.
In 1952, Pingnan County was renamed Gaolan County . In 1953, Pingxi County was withdrawn and merged with Gaolan County; Pingdong County was withdrawn and merged with Pingdu County; Qidong County was withdrawn and merged into Qixia County. The area administers 10 counties and 1 special area.
In 1955, the original Wendeng area belongs Weihai City and Hai Duong , kunyuensis , Rushan , Muping , Rongcheng , Fukuyama , Wendeng , Shidao 8 counties and former Jiaozhou area belongs Jimo County included Laiyang area; Pingdu County was placed under Changwei area . In the same year, adjustments were made to counties in jurisdictions:
  1. Withdrawal of the Changshan Island Special Zone and the relocation of Changdao County ;
  2. Repeal Shidao County and merge into Rongcheng County;
  3. Revocation of Yunan County, merged with Yi County;
  4. The Kunyu County was withdrawn and merged into Weihai City and Fuping County and Wendeng County.
After adjustment, Laiyang Prefecture administers 1 city and 15 counties.
In 1958, the Laiyang area was withdrawn; Jimo County was assigned to Qingdao City , and the remaining 1 city and 14 counties were assigned to the Yantai area .
