Biography [ edit ]
March 3, 1577, Trigault born in Spanish Netherlands Flanders of Douai City (now part of France ), joined the Jesuits November 9, 1594, in March 1607 from the seminary graduation, He was sent to the Far East to conduct missionary work. Jin Nie arrived in Macau in 1610 and arrived in Nanjing in 1611.

In July of the following year, Kinney arrived in Macau and arrived in Nanjing in 1620. In 1621, Jinni Pavilion visited Nanchang , Jianchang and Zhangzhou . In 1623, he went to Kaifeng to teach. In 1624, he went to Zhangzhou to build a church. In 1625, he went to Shaanxi. In 1627, he returned to Hangzhou.
On November 14, 1628, Kinney Court died in Hangzhou and was buried in the Jesuit priest cemetery outside Hangzhou. [1]
Sinology and Translation Works [ edit ]
After Jin Niege arrived in China, he had a certain amount of research on China’s politics, history, religion, and language.
Kinney is the first person to translate the Five Classics into Latin . In 1626, he will be translated into a Latin scripture in the name of Pentabiblion Sinense in Hangzhou. [2] In the same year, Kinney Court paid for "The Scholars of Western Scholars ", which was the first dictionary to use phonetic letters to mark Chinese characters. [1]
In addition, Kinney is the first Westerner to systematically write Chinese chronicles. He also will Ricci 's Italian memoir manuscript translated into Latin, the " Ricci China notes " in the name print and publish.
Jin Nige once cooperated with Zhang Jian , an educator from Fujian Province, to select and translate Aesop's Fables and named it " Cheng Yi ." After the second arrival in China, Kinney Court had a huge plan for the translation of books, but due to his premature death, the plan was not implemented. The more than 7,000 books brought by Kinney Pavilion have gradually been scattered and lost because nobody cares. [1]
